VPS18 slow
Hi there,

I love my VPS18, but after it went up again (it was down because of the DDoS) , everything began to load slower. SSH responds really slow and my website - wich is running on nginx - loads slow as hell. I did install CentOS6 instead of CentOS5 though, so that could be the problem.

I would like to know if other VPS18 users expirience the same problem. And I also would like to ask BreatHost if they can see if this a a server side problem, that would be really nice of them!

Thanks,
kiwiboom

Hi,

there's currently running a vzdump which generates a backup of the large site we got currently on that server. The process started on the 22th, but it's still running due to the large size of that site. I guess it should be completed tomorrow. We're currently migrating that site on a new server, that's what we announced before the downtime.

I've also attached a screenshot.
There's also another one online, so we could even move you to it if you still see any slowness tomorrow.

RE: VPS18 slow
Thanks for the fast response! BTW: As vSwap doesn't not work on any other os than CentOS6, and I want to use CentOS5, will there be traditional bust in the future?

RE: VPS18 slow
Sorry, Burst can't be used anymore as CentOS 6 does not support Burst.

The node itself runs CentOS 6 so you can't enable Burst.

RE: VPS18 slow
So I NEED to run CentOS6 if I want the swap?

RE: VPS18 slow
I think, yes.

Otherwise it's strange that a kernel update can't enable vSwap on 5.

You can also use swap on other OS's as the main's node OS is CentOS 6.
