RE: My Second Computer build
But always remeber if you are wanting to run a new gfx card you will want a pci-e slot as so you can use it and if you want to run two gfx cards you will need 2 pci slots a certain distance apart.

Prices drop so fast in the world of computers, there is no point buying a part if you can't run the system yet imo.

i recommend for a low cost system getting a amd processor with a apu (my a6-3500 on its own can play bf3 low/med settings according to youtube)
i agree, if you are going to make a computer, save up i dont know... $500 because that is about what mine is costing me and thats decent enough to play BF3 at full settings.

Check out the case i got off ebay for $130 today http://www.gmc.co.kr/english/programs/re...&depth2=25

i was just lucky, it was an auction and i put $100(+30 for postage) on it this morning with 2 hours to go and it ended at 10AM so all of the hardcore 'snipers' i call them (people who bid higher at last second) are at work or whatever they do.
RRP in aus is $399
note it does not come with a psu so now i have to get one, now i have blown all of my budget

Interesting case. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. Is the remote IR?

IIRC Asus uses IMedian as well for their HTPC displays and controls.

yeah, its a remote controll i am interested as to how it connect up, this computer is going to be great sitting next to my HD TV via hdmi and using it for a multimedia center, minus my xbox 360 because i sold it for parts... funny enough it turns out the 6670's are going to be the next gen xbox.
I did not notice this before but my gfx card's RAM is only ddr3, so as soon as i get it im going to o/c the RAM when gaming.

RE: My Second Computer build
I'm pretty sure 6670s have gddr5 ram, not that it really matters.

If you are going to oc the ram you may as well oc the gpu as well.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...696wt_1094 is the card, only powercolor has them...

if having ddr3 RAM means losing FPS i will just crossfire it with one with 1GB ddr5 RAM.
i will maybe oc the gpu, but i would rather do just one as so i do not need to get a all new cooling system.... i will see when i get the card... i have seen them clocked to 1050Mhz and also the memory but if was going to go any higher i would much prefer a water cooling system... that way if it gets too hot, i will add another radiator then go further Tongue

if watercooling fails, i will run the pipes around my pool as so it is a Jacuzzi

lol
Hmm, looks like they do make a dd3 version of the card for some reason. Gddr5 can't cost them that much more.

You should be able to OC the card decently well with the standard cooling, depending on your card of course. Due to the high speeds and tolerances of making semiconductors, the silicon has to be speced decently higher than the desired speeds, so you can generally OC it well. Of course, you can get unlucky and get one of the batches that just meet the desired spec.

Generally, the rule of thumb is that watercooling doesn't let you OC any more than a good air cooler (the stock cooler isn't good). It just cools things more efficiently.
