Try to wget the new version and decompress it. It might work then.

If you are nowhere near filling up your server's RAM, this makes it much easier to edit the conf files for everything or to work on your websites, provided that the latency is not really bad between your house and the VPS/Dedicated Server.

Rsmiley's VPS are on 1GBPS ports. Will they be fast or slower considering I have an 1mbps connection?

It's pretty decent on a 768kbps down connection to my VPS. It's supposed to be gigabit but I think it is a 100 mbps. The biggest issue is latency.

It's a gigabit connection as they said. But i think the switch is 100mbps.

I'm trying to start freeNX on my ubuntu VPS but I this error:
root@server:/etc/nxserver# nxserver --start
NX> 100 NXSERVER - Version 3.2.0-74-SVN OS (GPL, using backend: 3.4.0)
mv: cannot stat `/var/lib/nxserver/home/.ssh/authorized_keys2.disabled': No such file or directory
NX> 122 Service started

Any idea why?
NVM I got it to work but it takes up over 1gb of ram... anyone know why?

It's easy: It's for acccesing a desktop on the VPS. Here Gpoogle Chromas, and a few programs take ~500 MB of ram. 1 GB is the minimum I use sometimes. You gotta have BIG RAM to run FreeNX and/or VNC properly.
