IRCD is Internet Relay Chat Daemon. it is the server of a relay chat but the 1st thing that you have to know is what IRC really is. you can find the answer in here http://www.mirc.com

What kind of IRC daemon that you are installed ?
For Inspircd ./inspircd start

Sometime if you have mistake with setting configure so IRCd can't start too.

i got a problem during eggdrop installation on my Centos 6.2 64bit

same as for me, i have the problem like you to install Tcl.. may u must download and compile some TCL src.. But im stop to install egg. you can try this.

here : wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tcl/t...src.tar.gz

Compile is normaly dont forget to make and make install command.

finally, my problem solved

here's my step to solve the problem:
1. install tcl

Quote:yum install tcl tcl.dev

2. check rpm:

Quote:rpm -qa|grep tcl

tclx-8.3.5-4
tcl-8.4.7-2
3. when tcl-devel is missing

Quote:yum -y install tcl-devel

and after that, you can ./configure your eggdrop's installation back. for me, it works and my eggdrop running well now
