RE: yab forums
Pretty similar to the others.
But it has more options and it's actually a bit more easier to customize. However, you can't change alot the design of YaBB.

I totally agree with you. It's similar to the others.

RE: yab forums
I used to use YaBB, but I decided to get rid of it when it took me 30 minutes (seriously!) to find out how to make members administrators/moderators. I don't agree with the fact though that's it's so similar. YaBB is pretty similar to vBulletin, but don't forget that each BB is similar to each other in some way.

So, just to sum up:

Pros:
  • It's generally a very good BB, it's been around for at least 10 years and it was one of the first free bulletin boads.
  • The support on the forum is pretty good.
  • Many features.
  • User-friendly

Cons:
  • User-friendly, but only for your users, not for you.
  • Very annoying to install, you have to CHMOD almost each file.
  • Many features are hard to find.
  • Support is good, but there aren't many users on their support forum.
  • There aren't any plugins available for YaBB 2.5.
  • Skins are scarce.
  • Not regularly updated versions.

Despite all those cons, I'd really recommend YaBB for people with little requirements. You can try out YaBB at http://www.forum-software.org/yabb/revie...s-opinion.
