How to choose a shared host
-Borrowed from my site: http://www.zwebx.com/technology/shared-h...-host-171/
Hosts Terms of services and some hosts do not allow certain scripts/content to be hosted from there servers and always ALWAYS read reviews before you buy.

Hosts that guarantee 100% up-time can never be so sure of themselfs being up all the time because there are many factors that could go wrong in on the server (including hackers and whatnot)

What webserver your host is running (usally apache) and also if they are running PHP and MYSQL (some of the most used components in scripts like wordpress and whatnot)

Resources:

Many hosts may give you unlimited Disk space/Bandwidth (note this site uses under 100MB including all the images in the background section) are really only saying use what you need until you use too much and it is unprofitable for them that is no real possible way to gauge how much they allow you use before they suspend your account.

Recommended Hosts:

Hostgator is a well trusted host, and from what i hear they have great support and uptime.
