I have only used eclipse so far, I also want to try netbeans but I set up eclipse with git and some other mods so I CBF switching.

if you do choose to use one of them, changing to the other is quite a hassle.

I would use eclipse but to create an GUI I would use a plugin for eclipse called jformdesigner I highly recommended buying jformdesigner
