How to install Ubuntu on VPS ?

Basically its complaining because it wants a video driver.
Just install xserver-xorg-video-vesa or xserver-xorg-video-all .

That is that man. Thanks a lot. It did the trick. Now I am going to see how will Ubuntu behave. I heard that ubuntu is slow (and tried it once on virtual machine) what are your's experience about it? Ubuntu is slow or not?

Now I have ubuntu desktop but the issue now is that arrow of the mouse is not set properly. For example if my arrow is on the middle of the screen the arrow on ubuntu is few cm to the left. Surely it's something about the video drivers.

Ok I got the ubuntu part fixed. And all is ok now.

But now the Wine is the issue here. I keep getting errors when I try to run exe file. I checked permission, I did all that I could but when I run .exe it sends error report. So any help here?

What are you trying to run? Wine can't run all programs because it's just a compatibility layer.

It seems like Vagex will go to a Youtube video or something? I didn't found much when I just searched for "Vagex".

Anyways, I found https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...ox-add-on/ but I'm not sure if that is dependent on the executable program. If it's not, though, you should be able to run that instead?

vagex has .exe file to that i used to run in Wine. But it wont start so I will have to come up with some solution for it. Test other Wine versions, go on linux/ubuntu/wine forums and ask people. The addon works now just fine but I need .exe file too.

Anyone else has something to add?

Ok, that's what I wasn't sure about for the add-on. Yes, you can test other Wine versions, or actually just try a new version, but not sure if that'll work. One thing I'm a bit confused about is why you're running this kind of thing on a VPS; it seems like a desktop application, not something for a server. If you just want to tunnel it through your VPS you could use something like tsocks. And if you are just testing Ubuntu, then later you can install VirtualBox or something similar to create a virtual Windows that you can easily start, although that's of course not the best solution.
