AMD FX8120 VS i5 2500k VS Phenom II

If I were you, I would take intel. But why don't you take the new 3000 series of the intel cpu's? They are faster and use less energy because they're constructed in 32nm and they have a better included gpu.

The aren't too much faster in general applications, run hotter (due to differences in the TIM and the thermal paste used), and the included GPU isn't relevant if you buy a dedicated GPU. That, said if there isn't too much price difference I'd definitely go for Ivy Bridge. We don't know what the prices are like in the OP's region however.

I still wouldn't base my decision on that. A Radeon 7770 is around the same performance as an 6850, albeit slightly slower, with half the bus width and slightly faster clock speed. It is also thus faster than a 4890.

FX8120 wins because of the price.
150€ vs 190€ for the 2500K. Performance are similar at same clock. Both good for overclocking
