Hello friends
Today i would like to share my views on my VPS24 sponsored by ThakimHost and thanks to freevps.us for giving me an opportunity to use it for free =D

Before i begin i would like to say a few words on Freevps.us

If u have wasted a lot of time searching on google to find good quality basic VPS to start out with then look no further i would like to say that freevps.us is the best website where you get a free VPS for just posting ( good quality posts of course) on the forums.
I got my VPS within a week after my registration so i am very happy with it .

Okay now lets begin with our benchmark and review :

First of all lets see what ThakimHost has to offer us on VPS24

Okay now lets evaluate the specs

1. Disk space is fair enough i mean 15GB is good to begin with .
2. Bandwidth is 500GB which is i would say perhaps more than enough for me .
3. Dedicated ram is also ok at 256 MB and it is accompanied by Burstable 512 MB ram .
4. We get SolusVM for our server management which is again very efficient , and easy to understand and pretty straight forward control panel .
   Managing the server with SolusVM is very easy .
5. One of the key feature to notice is the location . It is hosted in france and hence if we visualize the world in front of our eyes we will see that it almost comes to the centre and hence helps to provide a very good and uniform ping from all the corners .
   

Ok so before starting up lets do a quick apt-get update and upgrade and then execute our benchmarking commands.

Ok now i did not run geekbench instead i used Byte Unixbench .

Before running it we will need to download and install the required libraries first .
We use this command

I hope the uptime will remain consistent like this

Usage : Respecting the TOS of Thakimhost i am thinking about hosting a TS3 server for a quake game along with maybe a small clan website .
I dont know exactly but whatever it is i will put this VPS to its full potential and try to explore more about Linux .
I will anyways need a good development environment for doing all of my college projects like Java / DBMS etc so its going to be really a good experience for me with this VPS24

I would rate it 7/10

I totally agree with the owner of ThaKimHost, atleast he is not banning Java like 123systems (123systems even banned it for paying clients).

It's free... People still complain even about free things.

Yes nevil even i agree with it but then i dont want to run some heavy game server like CoD-MW or battlefield etc

I just want to run a very simple quake server which i know doesn't eat away a lot of resources .
I remember i ran 2 quake servers on just 128 MB VPS and the servers where running very well without any lag .

Whatever it is i dont think its much of a big problem for me considering it is free .

lol no deathproxy don't take the meaning directly . It simply means that the data-center is in a good geographic position and helps in achieving global connectivity .

Nevil after contacting them this is the reply i got

So this means game servers are allowed but only to those who pay for their services and it is to be noted that Thakimhost don't allow Direct Support .

A lot of the providers/sponsors here don't provide support for these VPSs.

I think the wrong staff has read the e-mail you sent to ThaKimHost, he does maybe not know that the owner allowed people to conntact them via the e-mail address I gave you.

I will talk about that next time I see the owner.
