Android 4.1 Jellybean :: Thoughts?
What do you think about the new Android Jellybean?
For me, I would say, I like project butter, Google Now is fantastic! , like the new lock screen, like the new way of arranging icons on home screens and the new way notifications work. I still don't know why you can't control things like Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS etc from the notification drawer. (For all those with Samsung galaxy ace and gio devices, a developers team has got jellybean working on our devices! )

I have Android 2.3.7 on my LG GT540. I can easily control things like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and more from the notification drawer. I am not sure if it is only a feature/setting of Cyanogenmod but it should work on other Android 2.3.x ROMs too other than using custom ROMs build on CM7.2/CM7.1. Samsungs Android ROMs have it also inbuilt and it looks much cooler, you can even control the music player from the notification drawer. I use a widget for that on the lock screen though. A few images of that feature: ![]() ![]() So I don't see where you can't control WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc from the notification drawer. |

RE: Android 4.1 Jellybean :: Thoughts?
Samsungs stock ROMs have that feature and Android 4 has it anyway.
I googled a bit and found out that normal Google Android 2.3.x ROMs have this feature also inbuilt. It also depends on what you understand as stock ROMs. Every factory has their own stock ROMs for different Android versions and devices. So I still don't see why someone would not beable to control WiFi, Bluetooth and other stufff over the notification drawer on Android 4.1 when that feature was implented into Android since 2.3.x. |

Hopefully Cyanogenmod 10 will have the options for power widgets :-) (07-15-2012 07:41 PM)Murderwrecker Wrote: I mean Android AOSP, pure Android, not modified. Samsung's stock ROMs do have power widgets, but Google's 'stock' ROMs don't. ![]() Address: cwilkinson1998.com - Server down atm. RE: Android 4.1 Jellybean :: Thoughts?
I saw jellybean, i have an evo 3d from htc and the latest firmware for me is 4.0.3 and jellybean is not released yet but most people say that they will release it official and i don't need to use custom roms. by the way new features are not very noticable and i think this is just a small update.

Yes, I like this new android.
I love all Android devices. I have a Liquid Mini that came with Android 2.2 which I upgraded to Android 2.3. There won't be new releases of Android for my phone, but I really like android and will sure buy a new one in the future, with Android 4.0 or 4.1 Many thanks to FreeVPS.us for my VPS25! ::: Nginx + PHP + Mysql script for Debian & Ubuntu ::: Minimal X remote desktop script |

RE: Android 4.1 Jellybean :: Thoughts?
Looks like I'm not the only one who has a htc evo 3d. I'm not really sure if htc (and other compays) update the phone that aren't from the newest series. Most smartphoned didn't even get android 4.0 yet.
It is a lot of work for a company to make the new software compatible, afterwards they send it to the big mobile network companys and they test it. And the phones have to be tested if they pass all norms (din, sia etc.) again. |
