I personally would prefer ubuntu because i have used it on a home machine and am farmiliar with it, its badically up to you, it really doesn't matter, you could even just stick to commandline Tongue

I would say CentOS is the best Linux Destro for servers. Ubuntu and Debian is good too.

I have been a Ubuntu user for a while now, but I really like CentOS for a server OS. I have to use YUM instead of APT which offers not so good repositories. But I do like the way YUM spits out all the packages it's going to get. Despite requiring 100M+ Memory to install "filesystem" which is a 1.0M file.

it is a matter of what you prefer, cent OS i find is well documented and alot of well-know control panels like kloxo, cpanel and direct admin use it.

It is truly a horrible question of what is the best linux distribution, because everyone will have their own opinion. It would have been better if the original writer had asked "What is your favorite linux distrobution?"

I totally agree, it is a subjective question. Different people have different preferences.

now, i'm my opinion, I like fedora. It has a lot of the latest packages, its sponsored by red hat, and i like the logo.

centos is the best, i heard it's the best from some youtube comments and also from here... maybe i get linux in the future.
