But paid is better because free vps has a lack of support in which paid vps has 100% support for their client.

Free vps and budget vps has same level of support. I would say free vps has even better support. Unless you are using a high-end provider like KnownHost you won't get fast support.

I think it depends on what you need.

Sometimes there are many free versions of a program or a service that you need, and it is enough generally. So it is ok to choose free one. But sometimes free versions are not enough, maybe you need some special requirements. Then It is better the paid one.

Everyone should consider both of the options, and then decide carefully. If you choose paid one when you need free one, that means you are wasting your money. If you choose free one when you need the paid one, that may result a big disappointment. Free one may take you down before you got prepared to his punch Smile

Although I can understand your argument about wasting money when you choose paid when free would have been OK, if you had started with free when paid could have been better, I'd have thought it would be very easy to upgrade from free to paid.  Most professional hosts provide you with the option to upgrade and they may even help you set it up so you would experience the minimum of down time.

Technically also not all free hosts or all paid hosts are equal.  Like you may find a really great free host who could easily provide the special requirements you're looking for, whereas a paid host may not be as good with it.  For example, a shared free host I know two years ago experimented with using Namecheap space for a Forum and it completely bombed out, as what Namecheap offered that looked generous in specs, turned out much too little in the end.  Worse, the admin at Namecheap were not good with answering tickets, and not knowledgeable at all about Forums.  Same thing happened with Siteground.   Only person that is really good at managing a Forum is the owner of the Forum with his own server and own admin.  He could do that on a free VPS as well which is the direction that the Forum chose in the end.

I agree with you for upgrading from free to paid. I was thinking about my past experiences. I chose some free services, and some time later I realized that these companies doesn't care about their customers for free. For that reason, they may not offer important things like backup or reasonable uptime. Then you may find that free service as a pain. Once, I lost my website becauseof a kind of problem.

Not all free services are same. Same goes for web hosting. Also user should take a look at the the provider, how does the service sustain and how long it has been out there. After checking all these stuff you should decide how to use the free service. That if you are going to use it to host your important websites or just for temporary things.

When it comes to free hosting you need to take a look at if the service is sponsor based or owner provide hosting/servers by him self. If it's later then you need to think twice or careful about what you do with it. Because I know from experience in most cases owner sooner or later run out of funds or resources to provide the free service. This is by Sponsor base hosting is so good. Like here there are over half dozen different providers offer servers so you can choose something you like. Also servers are same as their paid packages in most cases.

About backup, well you need to take care of it no matter who your provider it. Even it's a high end hosting provider or free provider it's your own responsibility whatever they say in their sites.

Free has always a "catch" but pay doesn't, since it makes real money

Free may be good, but for sometime. Actually FreeVPS.us is a different story, since there are sponsors they are getting benefit. If someone is providing free services by really paying it and not getting any benefit then free service would not remain good. Lets take a look at free web hosting, they do not remain for very long time those who provides without no ads, and anything that would benefit them, whereas if we see some free hosting which i would not like to take their name but they are still running just because they put ads in a web hosting.

When something is free there is always a risk and you might question the reasoning behind it. When it is paid, you believe you are getting something for the price you are paying. It really has to do with the way you think though, which ends in the mind.
