Don't worry kara Wink I've made the script smart enough to list the posts by their creation date in descending order. So when the script reaches a post that is outside the of the month's scope it breaks out of the search because it knows there's nothing to count anymore. It extracts the exact time stamp from the post so it's quite accurate. I've taken into consideration the bandwidth and latency limitations which is why the script crawls only the pages it needs. Nothing is wasted Cheese

The control panel can be made easily, it shouldn't be super nice. Just a website with a SQL database which gives a list of users (add/remove function) with their post count(via an API maybew) andif the end of the month is reached there would be a log showing a list of users with not enough posts + profile link + last VPS request post, this list can maybe be emailed automatically via a cron. And maybe Customable post counts.

If you want, I can make something because I've some spare time(if I get cpanel working >.>) but I use a framework where I' used to, CodeIgniter. Just to give you less work Wink

With kind regards,

With kind regards,

That's the exact same idea that I've asked Nevil if I'm allowed to implement (including CI). But that would mean to have your application share/use the same database as myBB uses. Kind of a security whole if public would be allowed (of course it wouldn't be public) but what if myBB updates their database structure and your plugin front end remains outdated. Anyway, having to work with a third-party script as the plugin manager would be awesome and would allow me to implement more features but it's not going to happen. I'll make the plugin completely in myBB and at the end I'll even make a guide describing how I build it.

Currently I'm improving the crawler script and then I'll make the plugin. If I need any help I'll make a post or something. It's better when multiple users are working on a project Cheese As soon as I have some code to show of I'll add everything to my Git repository. Thanks for the offer nomis002 Smile

If you need help, I can maybe help but I'm not a pro :p
Maybe if you are using GitHub, you can share the link to show us some progress? Or any other Git

Don't worry nomis002 Smile I just have implement a few more features and I'll put it on my Git repo. Just added more features when scanning the posts and I'll also add a few more features when scanning the profile.

Now the script also captures a list of the counted posts Smile an I plan to capture more data about the user profile too Cheese Then I'll implement a Bootstrap interface and lucklly solve guest issue (won't be able to actually do it without the help of admins Smile )

EDIT:
I just finished the user profile crawling and I'll start working on the Bootstrap interface as soon as I have some free time. And of course fix the guest issue Cheese

This is a great script, but i like counting my posts by myself. It will help all the members if the admins decide to add this script. So Thanks for scripting ^_^

Nice work overall, incoming reputation for your time that you spend on it Smile

However it's quite easy (but it is some work) with DOM etc :p

Yes net_robber, as soon as I finish the interface you'll be able to use this to count your monthly posts. But if I don't manage to get around the guest issue, then you'll have to manually count the remaining hidden posts from "Help & Support" section.

Yes, it's quite easy, but getting around the myBB quirks and making sure the retrieved data is correct takes the most of the time. Allot of testing and studying goes into the whole process Cheese
