Of course it has viruses. Ok, there is a serious page with viruses (note that 100% of viruses here don't exist in practice). Some actually write code that asks for root password, and does evil stuff after getting it. Not that this is common, and if you actually gave a virus your password, well. Also, why you would use unknown code, when software repositories contain lots of useful code.

Windows Security Essentials works for me.
I have used Malwarebytes before. It is also a nice light weight Antivirus program.

Viruses in Linux are very rare and you will not catch one so often,but offcourse virus intended for linux distros also exist.

I agree..Virus are there, But since there are strict privileges for users, they cant harm much.

AVG all the way on every computer i own/manage

because avg is free and i the best AV for me

after using some of AV now and about 3 year I use NOD 32
for me is the best of all

Windows defender on my win 8.1, powerfull and low resources.
Comodo av does a very good job too. Highly recommended.

I have BitDefender on one of my laptops and one of my computers. In another laptop I have Comodo internet security and in another PC I have Windows Defender. (will install BitDefender once I get internet connection on the office).
