Are you serious JackRyder? Would you please mind to read the topic again? It includes CentOS 5,6 & 7 along with Debian/Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. The commands for the applications themselves are the same on every Linux distribution.

It's obvious that he doesn't read posts clearly.

I have a question.
Would this be better than using Google Pagespeed (Nginx Module) on my web server?

Conan I do not think that you can compare this Google Pagespeed.

These applications scan jpg/jpeg & png pictures for space that can be optimized/compressed with special algorithms. jpegoptim: "utility to optimize jpeg files. Provides lossless optimization (based on optimizing the Huffman tables) and "lossy" optimization based on setting maximum quality factor." and optipng: "a optimizer that recompresses the image files to a smaller size without losing any data. It works in a manner similar to pngcrush.".

Google Pagespeed optimizes the whole web server setup and probably also does optimize images. It does way more overall than just optimizing images and affects much more than this. So it can't be really compared because as far as I know image optimization is only one out of a lot things that Pagespeed suggests.
