Lucked out tonight on TV with a classic movie - The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009). The cast includes two of my favourite actors in the lead roles - Denzel Washington and John Travolta.  Directed by Tony Scott it is an action crime movie where a New York City subjway train is hijacked for a ransom.  Plenty of action and really good acting. Score the movie 8/10.

Watched Thor: Ragnarok. Well I wonder if writers trying to make this series more of a comedy than action movie. I think this one has more funny stuff than battles and action. I don't think it's good as previous one. Would give it 6/10.

I didn't saw much movies recently due to workload but watched "Insidious: The Last Key" which is a sequel to previous ones, frankly, I didn't like the movie much, I guess too many sequels make a storyline weak which happened with this one.
I will give 4/10 to this one.

RED 2010
Action movie without logic.
If you don't consider the logic, movie will be an action entertainment.
I liked it.
My ratings would be 6.5/10

Watched a couple of movies
  • Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 - Didn't like Drax that much at first but he's a hoot especially in the second movie. He has more killer lines than all the other characters combined. Baby Groot is also a scene stealer. Yondu is definitely a badass just like Mary Poppins, and I absolutely dig his redemption story. Special effects are well done and the ships in the movies look really awesome. Personally I found Rocket Raccoon least likeable because he has a lot of cringey lines. That said, his prank in the first movie is hilarious. The songs in the two movies are also highlights for me. Combined rating: 8.5/10

  • Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - I liked this a bit more than I initially thought I would. I used to not like Kevin Hart that much but he's since grown on me. I personally find him acting scared sh*tless and all that funny. I think the characters played off of each other well and the jokes hit more than they missed. I couldn't help comparing it with the new Baywatch which also stars Dwayne Johnson and found the latter movie to come up short. I think one aspect of the movie which amused me a lot was the body-switching. The scene where the manly man Dwayne Johnson repeatedly tells himself "don't cry" is hilarious. Jack Black playing a teenage girl is downright grotesque (but hilarious). There were also moments with great slapstick humor, for example when Kevin Hart's character fights Dwayne Johnson's character which is not an even fight to say the least. That's not to say that there weren't a lot of cringeworthy scenes and lines. Still, it was a very entertaining movie. Rating: 7/10

Haha. I loved it. The mood/tone reminds me of Deadpool which I absolutely adored. It's at least 8/10 in my book.

I like Deadpool. The character has been hilarious from start. But the Thor is a more of mucho character. But I guess they want to try something different after seeing sucess of Deadpool. Now I'm looking forward to watch Infinity wars.

The Post (2017) with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks - directed by Steven Spielberg. Documentary type movie about a typical newspaper discovering Government secrets about how politicians have sacrificed soldiers' lives in order to win elections. Focus is on Meryl Streep as the newspaper publisher who had a tough decision to make. Whether to publish and face possible loss of the newspaper and imprisonment, or to play it safe. Not a bad movie - although I don't think it would have made it if it hadn't been for really good actors. Score it 8/10.
