I don't think the network switch will change your IP, unless they have decided to change their ISP to another one. Maybe it'll be bring some type of improvement to the service that the free users are currently using.

Actually we are changing ISP. We are physically moving the servers to our new DC too.

However, @HYX, there wion't be any IP change so no need to worry.
It is great to hear that free clients will be on the better network soon, too. I wonder if the location will still be Lithaunia or will it be another country? I hope it'll be still LT but just another better data center Smile .

Yesterday something strange happened: I found my server being shutdown without my consent for around almost 6 hours before I noticed it and started it again. I checked logs and there was nothing wrong as in that it might have kernel panicked or so. Everything else is also pretty much fine. I am the only one who ever accessed it and no one else has access to it.

I wonder what happened. Was it because I didn't login into billing since the 1st/2nd August (where I paid the bill for the month)? I remember you said you'd shutdown people's servers of they are inactive for long but mine was actually active. I host my sites on it all the time. I only use billing when I have to extend the service or for support. So that is basically on invoice day and/or any additional day where I might have opened a ticket.

In addition to that I am busy every day since August with my job and professional school for my Computer Science/IT-Specialist degree. So I don't have time to monitor it all day long or always have a look into my mails/billing. Often I come home late and then I am really tired so I only relax with TV or Netflix.
in addition to HR statement, my vps also faced the same situation, this is weird, that it actually happened to you and me also. whatever you said on it , resulted same for mine, it was shutdown after so long. i have also opened a ticket regarding it to which they eventually replied that there's no maintenance of any kind, and that the problem is from my vps itself.
I experienced the same problem this morning. Found my VPS halted for no apparent reason and had to boot it up.
Really wonder how 3 of us were taken down.

Same here. My VPS is down too. So it looks like it's a global error.
I am  using  VPSBIT- Free Server. I  am  happy with their free vps services .  They provide good service

Last few  months i face only one problem is network  issue  download speed  was very slow   when i start to update Linux  I have to wait 1 hour to complete .
But now network issue was solved  and  now i getting good  speed .

I don't think it's a 'global' problem. One of the nodes has been having some problems. It crashed/rebooted a couple of times. Not sure what the cause is, but I suspect you are all on the same node. There are about 60 VMs on that node. If your IP is in the 191.xxx.180.2 - 63 range, then you may be affected. Node has been stable / online for over 4 days though. Our other nodes have 100+ days uptime.

Sorry about the troubles on your VPS. We didnt shut it down. Either your VM crashed or your VM was on the node that crashed. Any way.. we will postpone the move to the new DC until November. Network issues with existing provider seem to be resolved now and so we won't be pushing the move since we don't want to waste our valuable rack space. We will get more racks in the DC before migrate!

We will keep it in LT, just moving it into our new DC about 10km away from where they are now. The migration will result in about 1 - 2 hours of downtime during the move. Change of network may change performance. The change in routing may be worse for some as we would no longer have access to RETN which is great for Russia and some of Asia. But otherwise it will probably not be much different.
I would like to add an update to the review for the last few months.

The service is still great as always. Great performance and everything works. No recent downtimes since the last node related issues where the host node was rebooted. Another very positive things is that the network has improved again. There were absolutely no issues with the network in the last few months. No more network related downtimes. That means that all these very frequent disconnects and network drops that reached from 5 minutes to over an hour are totally gone.

Network carriers and routes still seem to be the same. So I assume that the VPSs are still on the old network and that it has got better again.
Today I found my VPS being shut off once again without any kind of notification. This has caused a downtime of over 7 hours as I had no means to turn the server on due to being at work and not having my login details and keys. I don't know what happens. Had over 130 days uptime since the last reboot due to updates. I guess something went wrong with the host node again like last time when it was rebooted due to some issues.

Otherwise the service has been really great in the last months. No more issues with the network since a long time. Performance is still totally alright!
