Guys for this trial they're clearly asking for 'Work Email' address.
If you're using free email providers and not getting approved don't bother to complain here. Demand usually make companies stricter with rules rather than the opposite.

I received an almost immediate response.  And here's the irony.  My IP is from the Middle East and is usually regarded as suspicious.  I fully expected the same rejection I received from Romania about a month ago.  Not only did I use my personal yahoo account, but a different Yahoo e-mail address called rocketmail.com. I'm set up, just haven't had time to check it out yet.

Usually I'm conservative in trying these things out, but it got my attention because it's from Switzerland, and I'm situated closer to the "hub" from where I am, than for VPSs in the US.  I'm looking forward to trying it out - hopefully by the weekend as we're horribly busy at work at the moment.

So far so good Gooliver, thanks for the tip!

Tonight I checked out where the data centers are located. Very interesting. There are two data centers:

1. Deltalis data center - in the Alps in a former military anti-atomic command and control center
2. Equinix data center - close to European financial ecosystems and global markets

Map at URL below:
https://www.exoscale.ch/infrastructure/datacenters/

Think I'm going to try CH-DK-2 hosted by the Deltalis data center. The Alps may be interesting. Smile

The way it is set up is different to what I'm used to, but tonight found the following Quick Start tutorial:
https://community.exoscale.ch/documentat...ick-start/

First step will be to set up SSH Key Pairs. A new experience for me too.

OK soon now. Hopefully Friday I'll be ready to set it up.

Report back:  Took a little while to familiarize myself with the Exoscale Console, but after a few hours got the hang of it.  Think the only part I don't like is when one re-installs the OS the IP changes.  For the rest the "micro installation" of 512 RAM is much faster than my paid VPS with 1GB RAM.  Probably because I'm situated closer to the Hub in Switzerland but also because of the SSD.  The Website said the micro installation would come with 10 GB SSD, but I got 50 GB.  Quite impressed so far.

Bottom line.  It works.  I'm happy I signed up for the trial.  :good:

Not bad for a month. Also, the specifications look good. The reason Gmail may not be working would be it's quite common plus anyone could sign up. I think they want to put up the quality rather than quantity. They will actually run out of stocks if they distribute it randomly.

I don't think the e-mail address makes a difference. I'd say an honest and sincere approach, even from an iffy e-mail address like mine, would have a chance of succeeding. I get the feeling that the guys behind Exoscale could be native English speakers. I've just had my first experiences with opening two tickets at different times and the responses were top quality responses, in excellent English and by high tech individuals who know what they are doing.
