120-Days Trial of IBM LinuxOne
#1
Hello,
I found another free (trial) resource from IBM, named IBM LinuxOne. Here you will be able to test out Red hat Enterprise Linux and SuSE (Ubuntu will be available).

You will get up to 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM and 40 GB storage.

Don't forget to read very carefully their Terms of Use: https://developer.ibm.com/linuxone/terms-of-use/

I haven't succeeded creating an instance as well. Will go to their Q&A support forums even their last "activity" was on February 16, 2016.

No need to ask, just follow the instructions https://developer.ibm.com/linuxone/wp-co...-Guide.pdf . I got it to work, but you only have the option to log`in with the private ssh key you will generate. If you want to use putty to connect you`ll have to convert the generated key to putty format using PuTTYgen.

I tried. It sends a code to my cell phone, and each and every time says the verification code is wrong. Probably doesn't like my IP.

I wrote to the e-mail address provided and will try again tomorrow.

Every time I tried, in the end I got Error state. From the date I open this thread.

Read my Deployment Log first, I forgot to include it the first time I post.

I've made some progress. I finally got approved for an account. Next step is to get my info from IBM LinuxOne in my e-mail account. Will continue this after work tonight.

In the meanwhile have just worked through a couple of tutorials of how to generate key sets with PuTTYGen. My first experience. I'm planning to study all of the background details on my breaks at work, so tonight I'll be more or less prepared before I start the setup phase. One major lesson learned so far - how to create PuTTYGen SSH keys. Next lesson is how to apply those. Smile
