I actually was surprised by the state of the shells and how abuse-free it was,

Insomnia247 comes with a "manager" command for the implementation of new features , some common ones include:

  • First MySQL Database
  • Additional MySQL Databases
  • First ProtgeSQL Database
  • Additional ProtgreSQL Databases
  • First mongodb Database
  • Additional mongodb Databases

Insomnia247 comes with additional Features such as a unlimited owncloud storage and lots more.
Users are given free <username>.insomnia247.nl subdomains to host their content with no forced ads
Normal users are given 3.5GB Ram limit and 70 process limit , this of course is provided as long as use have a valid reason for using the said resources, you can also increase the RAM limit / process limit by the manager command.
The staff of insomnia247 provides support only in email and on IRC , as no (official) forums exist for insomnia247
A forum which is hosted by the owner (cool_fire) is hosted at http://www.hackerthreads.org
Insomnia247 has a rather nice community and doesn't force you to participate in anything not up to your liking.
I sometimes wonder why Insomnia is free and why I am in the community,
Needless to say, I feel that insomnia247 is a great service and I wish that it does well in the future.
And as always check FreeVPS.us for invite giveaways, I believe one is scheduled for this month.

Final Rating: I don't think a rating would do this justice but I give it a 10/10

I have an Insomnia247.nl shell account since quite a few years by now. I believe I got the invite long ago from @gooliver and it was absolutely no waste as I got accepted with my application on the next day after applying. Back then coolfire had a much weaker server in place with much less resources than now but even then it was a totally great service. I've went through some downtimes with Insomnia247 already but it always returned. A while ago they moved to a different data center and got the new server with much more RAM, storage and a better CPU. And recently (well, a bit ago) they got DDoS protection from BuyVM due to attacks but since that point it has been basically a smooth ride again.

I host some of my files for some projects (I had a lot more but I moved a lot of it to GitHub months ago) on my public Insomnia247 webspace including a premade Counter-Strike 1.6 game server with Metamod and Dproto that someone from this forum requested. I use the shell a lot of testing and shell scripting for projects. Everything is always working out very well and if something is missing you can get it installed easily and rather quickly. coolfire is a cool guy. Have been hanging out with the fellow Insomnians on their IRC years ago.

My Insomnia247 public webspace is available at http://kokakukidotai.insomnia247.nl/

I can vouch for this great shell service. coolfire also provides VPSs for a good application and usage plan is provided. So a huge thanks again to @gooliver for inviting me a few years ago.

OpenShells shell servers disappeared a few months ago. There's still a community for it though.
