Do you already use it? Because I've got a few question about it:
How often do I need to enter the phone verification one time password? Do I need to do it every time when I want to check my emails, every day, or every time when my IP address has changed? This sounds very annoying. And what if Google SMS server doesn't work, or my mobile phone carrier disable it?

I am using it since 1 year but server never goes dead. You need to verify every time you login at any browser if you click " Don't ask on this computer again " this will not required. About your mobile that depends on you but my did never disabled any thing without my permission.

Does this 2-factor verification only works via SMS? I prefer to use 2fa via Google Authenticator, using the mobile (and desktop) app Authy.

You can use Google authenticator too. It's a different method, but it works similarly.

Yes it works with app authority and you can eve generate backup codes if you have no access to phone all time.

You can just use Authy. It supports google authenticator private keys. Even Yandex.key supports it as well. (I have Yandex.key and Authy (Yandex.key coz yandex mail))

Very great tutorial, I'm using it for a long time.. Also, there is a mode where your phone shows a screen asking if you want to confirm or not (if you have internet), or you can just use authenticator/sms..
VPS 14 by NodeBlade and VPS 21 by Hostmada.

Very good tutorial. I'll use this as soon as possible. But can this be annoying because I have to auth each time?

I won't say it is annoying, Having a 2-step verification is now the most effective way to secure your accounts. It will only take you a few more seconds than just using password. It is worth your time to do so.
