[SOLVED] [VPS14] Ubuntu 16.04 installation/network issue
#1
Hello FreeVPS.

It appears that after attempting to reinstall into Ubuntu 16.04 I get this on SolusVM:

Please fix this as soon as you can.

EDIT: Now my VPS cannot resolve anything when doing apt-get update:

I also have tried updating the nameservers, Nothing seems to work.
Thanks For the VPS 18 FreeVPS.

A reinstallation to a different OS doesn't restore functionality of the service?

Either way, a ticket will be created for this issue.

My VPS is online. but configured with no swap:

EDIT: This is also happening with Debian 8.0.

@Kotagami I know. But 14.04 is EOL. (End of Life) And I don't want to take a chance.

I don't want to either but lets see what's @HR says about my problem
Also mine doesn't even say 16.04 it says 16.06

@PokemonEx222 I can recreate the VPS with the right specifications but this will fully wipe it and so all data will be gone. IP address might change, too. PM me if you want it to be recreated. I asked NodeBlade to adjust the vSwap for your VPS. It may take longer due to holidays.

@Kotagami this news makes it clearly look like a major issue with the Ubuntu 16.04 template rather than the VPS provider. Not much the provider can do other than wait for a fixed version of the template if they didn't create their own templates. And 16.06 is clearly a typo made by Hostigation but nothing worth to be mentioned.

It seems that @NodeBlade has appeared to fix my VPS with the proper swap. So I am going to mark this as solved and closed.

I can offer you to recreate the VPS. That could fix the issues. PM me if you want a recreation of the VPS.

Well I had similar problem with the vSWAP with nodeblade but they were quick to resolve mine. Apparently they had to recreate my VPS, but i think the IP remained same, i can't clearly remember.
