a) They do have Windows VPSs but those are not explicitly mentioned.
b) When you buy a VPS you can select Windows as the OS but this will add additional costs for the license.
c) You can use their mount ISO feature to mount a Windows ISO yourself and install Windows yourself without having to pay the additional cost.

Vultr uses KVM for their hypervisors and KVM is a bare metal hardware virtualization. So Windows, *BSD and even Mac OS server on the server will work.

About your price complaint: Are you serious or kidding? You literally pay less than a cent per hour for this VPS. You don't have to use it for a whole month. Especially if you are testing. So you won't even pay the 2.5 USD at the end of the month as you didn't use it all the time. Pff...

You don't have to have money on your PayPal account if you link your credit card to it. But be aware that you must not allow PayPal to change money from your currency to USD because they will almost "rob" you with very high rates. In the settings set it to credit card provider change the money and you can save a lot of money if you buy from online stores.

Well you don't really have to buy one for game hosting, you could just get one here, your exactly one post away...

A little update about a general thing coming with this plan and probably any other Vultr plan: the outbound bandwidth is free Wink .

Just noticed it today as the only counted inbound traffic at the bandwidth stats:

Most VPS providers within such a price range usually never provide free bandwidth so they usually count both in and outbound bandwith into the monthly traffic limit. So my proxy server would have used over 40 GB by now if Vultr wouldn't do free outbound traffic.

Sweet Smile .

Doesn't some other providers charged for outbound traffic but not inbound?  Usually what I see is either they charge for both, outbound only, or it's unlimited both ways..

Definitely Vultr is eyeing business with such lucrative plans, I mainly require high connection speed which I think is great at this price point,
I would like to thank freevps.us for the knowldge i gained through your forum.

@Kyrie I picked one up a few weeks ago: it's been great! I've managed to pull data at a sustained speed of over 100mbit/s.

Outbound shows just over 205gb for me Smile
I have VPS 18 (Hostigation) and 24 (HostDare).

There are different kind of models:
- some charge for inbound and have outbound free
- some charge for outbound and have inbound free
- others charge for both
- and the last kind includes both for free which means they sell "unmetered plans" (there is no such thing as unlimited, unmetered means they don't care how much you use as long as you don't take everything for you for 24x7 and disturbe service for others)

@doghouch that's great to hear. The speedtest I did on my previous Tokyo instance showed a shared 10 GigE connection. Right now I have one in the Netherlands as it provides the best speed for me (strange enough the German location is really bad in terms of speed if I use it as VPN/proxy but I do blame that on my ISP as they have low bandwidth carrier contracts and have millions of clients... they refuse to buy additional bandwidth with carriers and so everything goes downhill over these ultra congested routes).

Hmm... usually either they charge for all the bandwidth you use, sometimes just outbound, since most clients would use the outbound bandwidth more then the inbound bandwidth, so they're not giving a lot away.  However, there are some use cases that are different and are inbound bandwidth heavy.
