[VPS] VPS 9 - GalaxyHostPlus Review
#1
Intro
Its been nearly 2 years, I have the GalaxyHostPlus VPS(VPS 9) through FreeVPS,I never thought of leaving the VPS till now. But since the sponsorship was ending, I thought of creating a Review about the VPS & the Provider which I had experienced till now. You can see how long I have been with GalaxyHostPlus so it probably be a nice experience which attracted me for such long time.

Specifications
Quote: Wrote:Disk Size: 100 GB HDD
Monthly Traffic: 2 TB
Memory: 3 GB & 6 GB vSwap
IP Addresses: 1x IPv4 & /80 IPv6
Virtualization: OpenVZ
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Connection: 1 Gbit/s
The above specifications were fine for me, I mostly had used those 100GB Hard disk for backuping my old files.. and From past logs, I hardy use 30-50GB Bandwidth each month(maximum), and about those RAM, it was more than enough for me to host my Gameservers & web server. I had choosen a Germany VPS as because It was near to my location(get less ping in my gameservers Smile ). And Nothing I can say about 1Gbit/s since unlike other providers, they don't advertise fake stuff.. they provide what they really advertise.

There Download as well as Upload speed, both are great. I had already experienced their download speed in the past. I had got to know about upload speed test when I backuped my files yesterday.. it was 12GB and successfully been uploaded in less than 40 mins.I would really miss there ping for my gameservers Sad

Mostly it contain my gameserver files and backups.
I normally like to use the VPS via GUI, Like windows.. So I don't have much experienced it from terminal side..

Control Panel
Earlier they had SolusVM which was working fine for some time but since SolusVM's developers gone inactive(hardly bothered to release its updates), they shifted to Virtualizor, which Is again a Greate Control Panel.. its most tasks are done via AJAX which had attracted me alot Smile
they really try hard to keep there Panel and system up to date and try to provide all possible OS there which decreases there customer's tasks.

VPS Usage:- I uses it for hosting gameservers, developing themes for my projects, and also for backuping my old files. It was like my second PC which can be even controlled my be mobile from anywhere.

What I would improve with this VPS
It was a perfect VPS for Me as well as would be for GHP's customers, I only would like to Increase the no. of cores or have a KVM Virtualization.Since I mostly got affected by that.
I really liked there service, so much that now I have 3 Big Paid VPSs from them Cheese
Just another feedback need to give is about their support, from past few weeks they became inactive in replying their Billing panel's Tickets.. which could affect their reliability.
I See they answer us here very frequently, I hope they do the same in the tickets.. since its the only direct way to interact with them and their users. which shows them alive.

Final Verdict
A great VPS with Great power and support By GalaxyHostPlus , I really recommend this VPS for all users, They are probably most cheap and best Provider for VPS Hosting for Europe locations.I Like how they do some special events at vacation times Wink keep it up!
and Hope you soon come here again as an sponsor.

Overall VPS rating 8.5/10

Thanks for reading my review, I think you may not bored.

GHP is a very great sponsors for us, and sadly they have to left us.

It's amazing to know about speedtest, about disk speed and other, since I don't get that much.
By the way, great review and very specific about that.

Hello,

Thank You for the feedback, for sure we will look into improvement.
Hope you will continue enjoy with the VPS on FreeVPS unless you decide it to drop it however new VMs cannot be deployed anymore for FreeVPS.

We currently experience some Gmail issues and we may migrate to new mailbox or self hosted in week time if google don't solve their issues.
I'm currently working on some changes on GHP so probably next 2 weeks things will be a little different maybe more organised.

Thank You so much guys for current support and have a nice day.

Thank you to you too JanuszC.  I had an unbelievably fantastic experience with Servers 27 and 9.  Also enjoyed your interest in FreeVPS and hope you'll keep being around and keep us up to date with special offers at GalaxyHostPlus. Would be nice if I could subscribe one day once you've got everything sorted out.

Yea one more catch.. I hardly get any email regarding any response in tickets(if staff answers),though it shows on the email logs at the client account of the billing system of GHP.
This started from the time it got the new look.
I am wondering what would happen if GHP announce some interesting news (offers/any announcement)..
Will I miss that too?(I don't want to miss that).

Hello,

E-mail system should be fixed before we post any offer however we plan to increase the prices by end of month. for allowing us to expand.
You should be able to still keep the current VPS 9 etc with FreeVPS unless you decide to drop it or you don't have enough forum posts/points.

That's fantastic news.  On what terms will it be? I definitely don't want to drop it.  But haven't seen an announcement from the staff yet.  Like the last official announcement said that effectively the VPSs would be at an end on 20 January.  If that's not the case is it possible to let us know.  In which case is it possible for a reset of the OS of my VPS as the OS in Virtualizor only has one option Ubuntu.  I'd like it to be reset to CentOS minimal 64 bit if possible.  Otherwise Debian minimal which was what it had been on before.

@deanhills Can you pm me your IP so I can fix that for you.

Glad that @JanuszC is allowing the current container owners to remain owners of their GHP container (if I'm reading this right). Your an amazing sponsor so I just wanted to say thanks for giving us free containers for all this time! Smile
Thank you HostUS for VPS 16!
