Which technologies that a web-dev must know?
#1
I know the basics are HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Wordpress, Frameworks(i.e. Bootstrap, etc)

What are some other technologies that can act as a plus-point for a web-developer ?

This question doesn't have a specific answer and/o path. There are dozens of paths that you can take and dozens of fields that can influence your needs. There's also the fact the you need to specify what kind of web-developer. Your average web-dev that slaps a few libraries together like jQuery, Bootstrap and CI to make a simple and almost static website for someone. Or the hardcore developer that writes sophisticated web-applications like Wordpress, myBB etc.

Also, it used to be that PHP was the goto of web-development. But nowadays you see people making web-applications in low-level C/C++ code. Go back a decade and that would be considered absurd. Since you don't have to render anything on the web-server anymore now that you have libraries like VueJs, Angular, React etc. Now you're pretty much making a request to the server to give you a JSON object with the information you need. Pretty much like you would with a database in PHP. Therefore, the languages that you know or plan to learn might also influence what other technologies you'll have to learn.

There are so many variables that can influence the answer to this question that you simply cannot give a concise one. Especially when you don't have a particular field of interest. You're targeting a broad field of technologies with a generic question and the answer will be the same.

I'll have to say that I'm a bit curious about the answers to come. How will they tackle this question.

I think it depends what are you doing . But you must know html css js must. And then if you want to work on php learn core php and then work using a framework. I think it is the best way to start your journey.
Yeah. Everything is right....Or wrong?

As S.L.C has explained very nicely, there are many paths.

Term web developer is way abstract. Looking at the list of skills that you possess, you should definitely look deeply into php for now. However, python would be handy if you want to do quick web scrapping and API integration from scratch.

Other than that you're already on good way, just convert that line from "I know the basics" to "I am pretty much experienced with". You'll find the technologies on your way. As ALPANAWEB said, it completely depends upon your objective. Answer would be more accurate if you could have asked "What technologies do I need to learn before making ProjectX (random project name)".

I think for being a developer one should update his/her knowledge according to the time. He should be able to handle html5, css, php, javascript etc.

My number one I always recommend is PHP. It can just be used for so much... obviously there are many other options too that you could/should learn depending on your needs. But what you mentioned + PHP is a very good start IMO.

i wonder why don't you mention PHP? It's very basic and familiar for a web developer.

And you should know about product management knowledge, because We also have to know about how to build a great product with great and efficient code if you want to be modern web developer.

I'd add SEO - Search Engine Optimization. SEO has become a specialist area that requires some time with getting familiar with the technologies it uses and the ways one can optimize one's Website for traffic or protect it against certain traffic. It's also a very interesting field to become a master of. You now get people in industry who are employed as dedicated SEO specialists.

Ditto Safety & Security of Websites. Some specialists are employed as dedicated specialists as it has become a necessity, and no longer a luxury to safeguard Websites. Would be good to become familiar with all of the aspects of safety and security and what is available out there to protect one's Website particularly at the stage of design and building it. Safety & Security is also an ongoing process, so something that one probably would build on all of the time.
