Benchmarks Scripts

Geekbench is not a must when doing benchmarks but however the new Geekbench version does not work well with the OpenVZ 2.6.18 kernel.

Byte UnixBench should work but it is not a must.

I do not want to present myself as the best review writer or someone who knows more than others. I think that especially two of my reviews are going in the right direction. They can help you to write a much better review than mine. As previously mentioned, I'm only a moderator, not so important and therefore I can only point a finger in the right direction. And finally I hope you will write a really good review.

Here are the two reviews:

I do not want to offend anyone with this message or represent someone as useless because their review is shorter or something.

If the latest version of Geekbench isn't working on your VPS, try this one:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/geekbench/Geekbe...nux.tar.gz

Download Geekbench from their website and extract it on the VPS and run it.

Wget Geekbench to your VPS:

Extract it:

Terminal

tar -zxvf Geekbench-2.2.7-Linux.tar.gz

Run it:

Terminal

cd Geekbench-2.2.7-Linux

than

Terminal

./geekbench

Is there a restriction on how often you can run the benchmark script on the same machine?

I was thinking of putting it on a hourly cron job to keep track of the server/network stats. I know this will use up to 744 GB a month (1x24x31), but I'm not sure if FreeVPS and the download test sites have any download restriction...
