Best Anti-Virus Software [List]
#31
I actually personally use Agnitum Outpost Security Suite on Windows, and Little Snitch, if you can called that an anti virus program, on Mac.
I prefer them because I can manually allow and block ALL outgoing and incoming connections, they can also tell you what program is sending data outside. Now this may not block offline viruses, but it sure beats having being remotely hacked by someone who can just override some virus protection suite.

I use avira. Lightweight, does not consume a lot of memory resources. I've used it for years and never had a problem with it

Personally i have used Bitdefender and Kaspersky antivirus. Both have provided awesome virus detection and one of the easiest to use GUI. They have very frequent updates and have powerful support. So far never had a problem with those two. Both are not that expensive but if you are smart and do not want to spend money on buying anti virus software you can download microsoft security essentials if you have windows. MSS also provides a very slick GUI and can detect most malware. It all depends on your needs. However i have had the worst experience with Norton Antivirus - they slow your computer to snail speed!
